I'm down with that motto: I yell it at cars all the time when I'm biking about.

Thank you so much for your support, darling. I appreciate it. :)

The thing is, that IS how most car drivers feel. It's a bass-ackward world.

I'm tending towards the drivers side on this one. But there needs to be another program for them: "Basic Physics Applies to You, Too, Asshole." On why you still can't go faster than the car ahead of you by tailgating it, and why pulling out directly in front of a semi going 60 mph is a bad idea if you're only planning on going 30 mph. Oh, and why blowing your horn does not directly affect the universe, such as making jaywalking pedestrians vanish instantly, or even walk faster. ;-)

The car drivers are horrible. Blasting their horns at the slightest provocation. Tailgating. It's really bad form. And those are people revealing, behind the wheel, their true selves.

I have to agree. I have been honked at simply for being on my bike on the road. Riding. Not doing anything erratic. Not even holding up traffic (because slow-moving traffic, because so many damn cars!). Just riding my bike. On the road.

Maybe this is why so many cyclists ride on the pavement, as one of the posters below complains.

As a pedestrian, I'd like to see this program applied to drivers and pedestrians equally. I can't count how many times in DC and the surrounding suburbs I--often along with a group of other pedestrians, crossing carefully at the appointed time and place--have come way too close to getting hit by a driver who must have been daydreaming or falling asleep. I'd also like to see a "Get the Fuck off the Sidewalk" program for cyclists in crowded urban areas where pedestrians may not be able to get out of their way in time--sidewalks are for walking.

That said, this is really funny! I was thinking about all the tacky DC Metro announcements--you must remember those?--that are worded as if Metro riders were all about 5 years old. I'd actually prefer to hear something like "Get the Fuck away from the Tracks" than "Please remember that playing by the edge of the tracks can be very dangerous, and we value your safety..."

Bicyclists have no business on the sidewalk. I support the ticketing of bicyclists who venture on the sidewalk esp downtown.

And the drivers in their cars are just outrageous every day.

I have to admit, when the road is chocka and there's an empty (and I mean literally empty) pavement next to it, I go on the pavement for a block or two to get past the traffic jam to where I need to turn. I blame the cars (but then, I blame cars for a lot of things).
