Michelle Obama says she was touched by first lady

What an unfortunate headline. Go AP.

Another 16 hour day. Got a lot accomplished. I get by with a little help from my friends.

Alanis Morissette is gonna kick my ass.

Jessica Alba gives birth to baby girl named Honor
What a goofy headline. It's like the baby were named Honor in advance and Jessica Alba just happened to give birth to her.

Alanis Morissette continues channeling her anger
Another strange headline. Does any thinking person care how or why Alanis Morissette manages her anger? Is it any of our business? Is it the vocation of Alanis Morissette to channel her anger?

I do not know that having a reputation for being extremely emotional is a good thing. Much less to have that news bruited about in the media. Overall it's a good idea to at least seem to be in control of oneself, right?

Wait, who is Alanis Morissette?

Is she gonna come kick my ass?

There's someone pounding on the door. Holy cabbage. It's Alanis Morissette. She's gonna kick my ass. Then she's gonna write a song about kicking my ass.

Gay wedding for Star Trek's Takei

Why qualify the wedding as gay? It is a wedding. The orientation of the grooms is irrelevant. We wish them the best. Set phasors to fabulous.

BBC Neanderthals.

Unless they meant gay as in happy or joyous. Yeah, that's it.

Slow web day. Nothing better to do but sit around, work on poems, and spam LJ. One of these days I am going to need to start generating revenue again.

The earthquake in China is quite bad. This story in particular, about a girl who will lose her legs to be rescued, is disturbing.

Girl will lose her legs to gain freedom

Aside from the horror of the subject, the journalism is bad to the point of disrespect. What's with the sensational headline?

"Freedom is a breakfastfood" (via [info]aquarian_azalea's compelling and readable blog) wrote a sardonic e. e. cummings.

And this:

"Rescuers took a photojournalist to where Yang was trapped, before rushing his photos, along with Yang's mother, to the local hospital, where surgeons studied them in preparation."

Why are surgeons studying Yang's mother to prepare for surgery?

In any case my sympathies go out to the girl.

Story in Trib this morning:

STORIES BREAKING THIS MORNING: Ricin, a potentially deadly poison, possibly found at Las Vegas Motel.

OK. Ricin is a deadly poison. Possibly found. Neither of these items (ricin = poison, ricin possibly found) is news.

There's possible ricin in my coffee cup, on my keyboard, and up my big white ass. Stay tuned to this blog. I'll keep you posted. Because ricin is a potentially deadly poison.
